Vintage Bohemian White-Cased Green Cut-to-Clear Enameled Beaker Vase

Vintage Bohemian White-Cased Green Cut-to-Clear Enameled Beaker Vase

¤550.00

Overview A classic Bohemian showpiece in white-over-green cased glass, cut to reveal rich emerald windows and finished with hand-painted florals, gilt accents, and a gold rim. The flared beaker-profile sits on a tiered pedestal dotted with oval and trefoil cutouts. Small in size and big on charm, it lights up a shelf with old-world color. Highlights - White-cased over green glass, cut-to-clear windows - Hand-painted enamel bouquets and gilt rim details - Flared beaker form on a pedestal base - 19th to early 20th century Central European (Bohemian/Czech) work Why you will love it The contrast of crisp white casing and jewel-green cutouts reads fresh and lively, while the enamel flowers add a romantic, handmade touch. It is an ideal accent for cottagecore, traditional, or eclectic interiors. Dating and background Bohemian glasshouses in the late 19th and early 20th century produced cased, cut-to-clear wares with painted bouquets and gilding, popular both in Central Europe and for export. This example follows that tradition with trefoil and oval facets and a gilt-topped rim. Safely dated c. 1890-1920. Condition Overall very good with light wear at the mouth and a few tiny handling marks consistent with age and use. Please see photos for the best sense of condition. Dimensions Height 5 7/8 inches. Care Hand wash only. Avoid abrasives on the enamel or gilding. Display away from direct, prolonged sunlight to preserve the painted decoration. Styling Group with other cut-to-clear or milk-white pieces on a mantel, use as a small posy vase, or set on a bookshelf where light can play through the green windows.
