Dating & background La Moderniste operated in France during the late 1920s–1930s, retailing fashionable vanity and desk accessories. The use of early plastics—galalith and phenolic resin—with precise geometric inlays is typical of French Deco workmanship ca. 1925–1935. Condition Good vintage condition with expected surface wear and removable age grime in recesses; scattered small spots and light abrasions from normal use. Chamois shows age toning and minor edge wear. No cracks noted in the body. Measurements Length: approx. 6 in Height: approx. 1.5 in Width: approx. 1.8–2.0 in Care Dust with a dry microfiber cloth. If cleaning, use a lightly dampened cotton swab with mild dish soap; do not soak or use alcohol/solvents (may haze early plastics). Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight.
